Announcing Contego’s ID Verification Added to G-Cloud 9

Contego, the RegTech and compliance specialist, has once again been selected to be part of the Government’s G-Cloud 9 Framework 2017, a procurement platform that pairs cloud-based service providers with public sector organisations. Contego joined a list of accredited suppliers under the Software as a Service (SaaS) category.

Contego has been a Government accredited supplier through G-Cloud since September 2013, helping both local and central government services to solve their complex identity verification needs, simplify their due diligence checks and ultimately reduce their business risk.

What makes this accreditation exciting is that it now includes Contego’s latest Right-to-Work compliance solution, further enhancing our Identity Verification and Risk Scoring services to local and central government.

In December 2016, Contego acquired Working Status Ltd, a Right-to-Work software solution supported by an industry-leading immigration consultancy. Its widely-adopted technology improves and optimises Right-to-Work compliance when onboarding and monitoring employees.

Our solution enables clients to quickly authenticate ID Documents in real-time, to check and confirm that an individual is eligible to work in the UK via ‘Right to Work’ checks. An image of an Identity Document can be easily captured via our mobile app, on a smartphone or tablet, or through a dedicated Identity Document scanner. The mobile solution is ideal for multi-site organisations and personnel who are on the move and it is compatible across multiple devices. Contego’s Right-to-Work solution brings automation, speed and efficiency to HR processes whilst helping to ensure compliance with the latest Home Office legislation.

All businesses, no matter if they work in the private or public sector, should be aware that they have a duty to verify that all potential and existing employees are eligible to work in the UK via ‘Right to Work’ checks. Failure to comply with current regulation can lead to hefty fines of up to £20,000 per employee and a potential 5-year prison sentence.

G-Cloud Framework was created to enable the public sector to seek guidance on cloud solutions, find accredited suppliers quickly and create simpler contracts for ‘the digital age’ and ultimately offering a more efficient way for cloud suppliers and government departments to work together.

To achieve G-Cloud 9 Framework accreditation, Contego had to undertake a thorough analysis and review of all its technical processes, submitting detailed company and technical information including Contego’s certification to the ISO 27001:2013 information security standard and Cyber Essentials PLUS certification.

Adrian Black, CEO, Contego, said: “We are really pleased to have achieved the G-Cloud 9 Framework accreditation again this year and we are excited that we can now offer our Right-to-Work solution to help government departments with their employee onboarding and monitoring processes. We are very keen to help government departments fight fraud and enhance their processes around automated identity verification.”

“Also, due to our extensive work within the property sector, we can see immediate potential in streamlining housing department processes and reducing fraud in relation to housing benefit. This will not only accelerate the application process but reduce fraudulent claims”
